两个骗子问道，展示并解释着那华丽的图案，然而这图案并不存在。

游行前的一整晚，骗子们假装在工作，还点了十六根以上的蜡烛。

人们应该看到他们正忙着完成皇帝的新衣。

他们假装从织布机上取下布料，在空中用大剪刀比划着裁剪，用没有线的针缝着，最后说：

“皇帝的新衣现在做好了。”

皇帝和他所有的贵族们随后来到大厅；

骗子们举起手臂，好像手里拿着什么东西似的说道：

典礼官宣布，游行中要抬的华盖的抬夫们已经准备好了。

皇帝在美丽的华盖下走在游行队伍中，街上和从窗户往外看的所有人都惊呼：

皇帝的衣服从未受到过如此的赞赏。
